What is the Orion Wealth Management Portal Mobile App?
The Orion Wealth Management Portal Mobile App is a branded mobile application for both iPhone and Android devices. It gives your clients access to their portal experience directly from their mobile devices, allowing them to stay connected wherever they go.
Orion handles the development and maintenance of the app, including branding it with your firm’s information. Your firm simply provides a few required assets and account details to get started.
Cost Overview
Orion does not charge a fee to develop or maintain your firm’s branded mobile app.
Your firm is responsible for the following third-party developer account fees:

Please Note:
- Any costs associated with hiring a third-party image designer are not covered by Orion.
- If your firm already uses the legacy Orion Client Portal mobile app, you may use your existing Apple and Google developer accounts for the upgrade process.
Mobile App Development Process
The mobile app setup process consists of 4 steps:
- Create your Apple Developer Account
- Create your Google Play Developer Account
- Provide branded app images
- Submit the Mobile App Request Form to Orion
Step 1: Set Up Your Apple Developer Account (iOS)
Important Notes
- You must enroll as an ORGANIZATION, not an individual.
- The app name and company name must match or Apple may reject the app.
- An Apple device is required to complete setup.
- Orion must be added as an authorized user to your account.
Create Your Apple Developer ID
- Go to:
- Select Account
- Sign in with your Apple ID

Select Enroll Now
If your organization does not already have an Apple ID:
- Select Create yours now
- Follow the setup instructions
D-U-N-S Number Requirement
Apple requires your organization to provide a D-U-N-S Number during enrollment.
A D-U-N-S Number is a unique business identifier provided by Dun & Bradstreet.
If your firm does not have one, visit:
Please Note:
- New D-U-N-S numbers can take up to 2 weeks to become active.
Complete Enrollment in the Apple Developer Program
Once Apple verifies your information, complete enrollment by:
- Opening the Apple Developer app
- Selecting the Account tab
- Signing in with your Apple ID
- Selecting Continue Enrollment
- Accepting the Apple Developer Program License Agreement
- Reviewing subscription details
- Selecting Subscribe
Add Orion as an Authorized User
Orion must be added to your Apple Developer account so the mobile app can be developed and released on your behalf.
Add the Following User:
- First Name: Orion
- Last Name: Mobile
- Email: mobileappsupport@orionadvisor.com
- Role: Admin
Instructions for managing users can be found here:
Enable Apple API Key Access
- Go to:
- Select Integrations
- Select Request Access
This allows Orion to generate the API key required to build and update your app.
Step 2: Set Up Your Google Play Developer Account (Android)
Create Your Google Account
If your organization does not already have a Google account, create one here:
Register for Google Play Developer Console
- Go to:
- Select Sign In
- Follow the setup process
Complete Developer Account Verification
Google requires the following verification steps:
- Verify your identity
- Verify your organization’s website
- Verify your phone number
Add Orion as an Authorized User
Orion must be added to your Google Developer Console account so the mobile app can be developed and released on your behalf.
Add the Following User:
- Email: mobileappsupport@orionadvisor.com
- Permissions: Enable all Account Permissions → Admin

Step 3: Provide Mobile App Images
Your app branding is created using the images your firm provides.
You will need to submit 4 images that meet Orion’s required:
- Naming conventions
- File sizes
- Resolution specifications

Step 4: Submit the Mobile App Request Form
Once Steps 1–3 are complete, submit your request to Orion using the Mobile App Request Form.
Please carefully review all information entered on the form because:
- This information will appear within your app
- Clients will use this information to locate your app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store
To preview the mobile app experience before launch, download:
- “Orion Wealth Management Portal” from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Important Notes for Existing Legacy App Users
If your firm already uses the legacy Orion Client Portal mobile app:
- You may reuse your current Apple and Google developer accounts.
- Steps 1 and 2 may be skipped.
- Your legacy app will be removed from the app stores during the upgrade.
- Existing users will receive the new app as an update on their devices.
