Reporting in Orion

One of Orion's core features is their reporting capabilities for both internal and client facing reports. Below are instructions on how to review the reports and provide them to your clients.


Client Facing Reporting:

You can generated reports in a few different locations within Orion including from Portfolio Viewer, Portfolio Audit, or from within the Reporting app. Regardless of which location you use to generate the report you will receive the same report prompts. Below is a guide to what each step is asking.

Generating the Reports:

Portfolio Viewer: Click on the three horizontal dots on the top right side of the screen and select Run Report.

Portfolio Audit: Select the lighting bolt from the dark grey menu bar at the top right side of the Portfolio Audit Screen.

Reports App: Scroll down to the All Reports section of the main Reporting page. Click the > bracket to option each report category and review the reports. Select the lightning bolt from the Actions column.

Report Generation Screen

  1. Options Screen: This screen will allow you to select which entity you would like to run the report for.
  2. Run For: This option allows you to select which level you would like to run the report for. Options include Household, Registration, Account, or Portfolio Group.
  3. Household: This field will update depending on what level you are running the report for. Enter either the client name or account number and select the entity you would like to run the report for.
  4. Start and End Dates: Select the start and end date from either the date field or use the Quick Dates option to select dates like Last quarter or YTD. Selecting the Use Inception option to override the start date with the household/accounts inception date.

  1. Parameters Screen: This screen will allow you to override certain report settings. For example, if you do not want to include a specific account in the report, You want to change the default performance valuation method, assign one time benchmarks, ect. Any setting updates made in this screen will only apply to the one time report that will generate.

  1. Delivery: This screen allows you to select where the report will generate too. You will want to select the PDF option if you would like the report to generate with cover pages, page breaks, and proper formatting. Selecting the Run Now option on the first two steps or the Screen option on this last page will generate the report to a web page version. You can then download this page to PDF in order to have the page breaks re-added.
