Matrix Trust Company Instructions

This data feed from Matrix Trust Company is intended for use by RIAs, IARs, Broker-Dealers, and Broker-Dealer Registered Representatives. Accounts must be with a Matrix Trust Company recordkeeper or TPA, and must be custodied or sub-custodied on Matrix's platform. It cannot be an off-platform plan. This feed does not support participant-level information; only accounts at the individual level are supported, e.g., individual-level 403(b).


How to Setup a Matrix Trust Company Interface:

Contact Matrix Trust Company (Broadridge)

  • Contact your plan's Recordkeeper (RK) or Third-Party Administrator (TPA) to request that the plans be added to the feed. It's important to note that Broadridge/Matrix Trust Company is unable to complete plan updates requested directly from the plan advisor.


  • Provide the following information:
    • Plan name
    • Matrix account number
    • Rep Name
    • Firm Name
    • Rep Code # (Matrix uses your CRD as your Rep Code if you are not a registered rep)
    • CRD #
    • Email Address


  • Matrix sets up every Firm with a Firm Number. Please user your NSCC number if your firm has one. If not, Matrix Trust Company creates a synthetic firm number. This is used to identify and link all plans from your firm to the feed when used in the plans Profile at Matrix.


  • Notify Matrix to submit credentials to sme-data@orion.com once complete.


Add Plan-Level Advisor to Applicable Accounts

  • Matrix Trust Company requires that the plan-level advisor is listed on the account before the feed can be enabled. Review accounts and update plan(s) as needed.
  • It's important to note that this process can take up to 5 business days to complete the changes at the plan-level with the recordkeeper or plan administrator.


Submit the Data Request to XY

  • Complete this form and select Other as the Custodian.


Interface Notes:

  • Requests not completed within 60 days are subject to cancellation. 
  • Except for IRAs, Matrix Trust only provides plan level information not participant.



  • Each advisor/rep has their own CRD/rep code added to their profile at Matrix Trust Company.


  • Matrix ensures the proper advisor is listed on the plan and communicates advisor profile details to the advisor and TPA/RK so they can provide identification info.


  • Approximate time to complete: 21-28 business days from when Orion receives all applicable information.
